A wedding dress reminiscent of soft waves on a calm day, a modern navy and gold nautical theme plus a sunset cruise aboard a classic 62 foot schooner, were just a few of the elements that this lovely couple created to produce a stunning seaside wedding at Lure.

Their Love Story…

Alyse and Lachy met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. They clicked right away because of their love for food and travel. They fell in love, and on a trip to Hawaii Lachy popped the question on a sunset dinner cruise at Waikiki.

Destination Wedding...

Alyse and Lachy had visited Airlie Beach many times previously and found the Whitsundays a great getaway for them. Alyse and Lachy chose a destination wedding as they loved that their friends and family could enjoy the wedding weekend as a short holiday. Many of their guests extended their stay to enjoy Airlie beach and the Whitsunday Islands.

The Bride...

Alyse chose a mermaid style shaped dress with a soft ruffle skirt. The skirt reminded her of gentle waves on a calm day and with the dress’s light gold colour, delicate lace and subtle beading gave it a very romantic feel. It was perfect for Alyse and she looked absolutely stunning. For her bouquet Alyse chose peach and white florals to add softness and romance.

Wedding Day Vision...

Alyse and Lachy both love the sea, so they chose a romantic nautical inspired theme comprising of sea related elements. They picked navy, peach and gold as their feature colours to add richness to Lure's crisp whites and timber features. Alyse also adding her own decorative pieces to suit their style and taste.

Wedding Venue…

As soon as Alyse and Lachy visited Lure they were hooked! It not only offered them the perfect venue of choice but also a stunning location. As foodies they wanted their guests to enjoy a special dining experience with them on their big day. The amazing food was another big draw card for them and they chose a 7 course banquet for their 100 guests. Speeches were arranged for in between courses, and the last course was wedding cake with assorted cheeses and fruit served as canapés so everyone could dance and mingle after their first dance as husband and wife.

Decor & Styling...

It was a picture perfect day for their outdoor marina-side ceremony, upon which Divine Weddings Whitsundays Bamboo Altar adorned with floral completed their perfect backdrop. The reception rooms at Lure were elegantly styled with navy linen and gold charger plates whilst the lit lantern glass centrepieces entwined with rope were in keeping with the nautical theming.

Their wedding cake was fabulously presented on an ornate gold cake-stand whilst a lavish champagne-gold sequin overlay completed the cake table decor as styled by Divine Decor Whitsundays. As Lure is such a beautiful venue, they found they didn’t need to spend a lot to dress it up. Alyse also made a lot of her own decorations which added a personal touch to their chosen styling.

The extra details...

Alyse & Lachy spent a good deal of their budget making sure their guests had an amazing day too by putting on the banquet and drinks all night. Another thing they spent a little extra on was their photography, a photo booth at the reception, and an amazing sunset sail for the bridal party on the Providence V. Whilst Alyse, Lachy and their Bridal party enjoyed their pre-reception cruise, their guests enjoyed the sunset with drinks and canapés on the balcony at Lure whilst they awaited their arrival. These extra things really made their day an unforgettable experience.

It was an absolute pleasure styling the wedding for this beautiful couple.
